METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING ARTHROSIS
US2018017555
The present invention relates to a peptide pattern characteristic of subjects who suffer from arthrosis and the use of said peptide pattern in the diagnosis of said disease. Therefore, the present invention also relates to an in vitro diagnostic method and a kit for implementing said method.

Current blood tests are not productive in the diagnosis of osteoarthritis, with magnetic resonance imaging and X-ray being standard clinical practice. The lack of precise methods for diagnosing the disease impacts the improvement of current treatment. In Spain, approximately more than 16,000 joint prosthesis implantations are carried out per year. This fact makes it necessary to develop effective methods for early diagnosis of osteoarthritis: It is a method that allows: -Act as soon as possible and slow down its progression. -Monitor the disease accurately. -Facilitates the development of alternative therapies. -Allows personalized of new treatments.
Since there are currently no pharmacological treatments on the market for the first symptoms of osteoarthritis (although there are several in development), INIBIC identifies implementation by hospitals or private hospital groups as the optimal business model of a service consisting of:
- Early diagnosis of osteoarthritis through the kit.
- Definition of different service packages based on the result of the same: nutrition, physiotherapy, imaging tests, follow-up consultations, etc.
