Hybrid photocatalyst for the degradation of organic pollutants in aqueous solutions
ES2922424 - WO2022184958
The technology, the result of the work of three Spanish research institutions, enables the degradation of organic pollutants in aqueous solution, using a hybrid catalyst (based on titanium oxide and graphene). This technology it has proven to be particularly effective in the degradation of some herbicides and pesticides (isoproturon, alachlor, methomyl, pyrimethanil) working at room temperature and with irradiation between UV and visible. The preparation of the material follows the principles of Green Chemistry
The technology allows the photocatalysed treatment of water from various sources for the degradation of organic compounds, including pesticides and herbicides, and can be extended to the preparation of other hybrid materials involving other metals.
