The LITecS AirClean has been developed within the ProPrunus project and consists of a portable system that sterilises the atmosphere in post-harvest environments using UV-C radiation and a plasma reactor for non-thermal plasma. It is a method for eliminating airborne pathogens and reducing the spread of post-harvest diseases in food products. This reduces fungal and bacterial growth without the use of cleaning and disinfection agents maintaining the food’s quality and increasing its shelf life.
